Habitat for Humanity Project in South Sacramento

Glass West is happy to announce that the Habitat for Humanity project on Cheryl Way in South Sacramento is coming along great! Major progress was made over spring break thanks to a group of collegiate challenge volunteers from University of Washington Tacoma. The home is scheduled to be completed and dedicated to its new family in May.

The Cheryl Way home will be dedicated to the Kapakly family, a family of 5 who has been residing in a two-bedroom apartment. After the Kapakly family completed their 500 hours of sweat equity, family member Natalie Kapakly continues to participate in the building of her family’s new home.

Volunteers are currently finishing drywall and will soon start on the home’s interior. Glass West’s role will be donating Milgard Low-E windows that play a crucial role in energy efficiency, retaining heat, and keeping a home cool.  The home on Cheryl Way is expected to be completed in late May, along with a home dedication from Habitat for Humanity.

Glass West continues to appreciate the support of our customers, and in return we will continue to give back to our community and work on projects with Habitat for Humanity.

The Habitat for Humanity relies on sponsorship and volunteers to make these projects possible. If you want to learn more information on volunteer opportunities and other projects, visit Sacramento Habitat for Humanity’s website.
