Glass Wests Donation to Habitat For Humanity

Glass West Donates to Sacramento Habitat for Humanity

We’re happy to announce the completion of our recent project with the Sacramento area Habitat for Humanity. The Glass West crew assisted with the redevelopment of a home located at 3449 Western Ave in Sacramento, CA. The Habitat for Humanity, in partnership with the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA), is currently redeveloping 5 homes on Western Avenue in Del Paso Heights. The 3449 Western Ave home is the 5th home on that street that has been rehabilitated by the Habitat for Humanity. To assist with the effort, Glass West donated 10 Low-E windows and 1 patio door.

The Habitat for Humanity focuses on energy efficiency as part of the rebuild initiative. They strive to make every home achieve efficiency ratings that are 10% better than the existing California Title 24 residential efficiency standard requirements. To achieve this goal, they install onsite solar power, low-emissivity windows, attic insulations, compact fluorescent lights, exhaust fans with timers, and on demand water heaters. All these steps ensure the highest efficiency possible, which saves on energy costs and lessens the impact on the environment.

Quality windows play an extremely important role in a home’s energy efficiency. Poor efficiency accounts for a significant increase in your home’s overall energy costs for heating and cooling. We donated Milgard Low-E windows, which are designed specifically to improve energy efficiency. These innovative windows feature a low-emission window coating designed to absorb the radiant energy, which lowers the emissivity rating by providing better insulation and reduced heat loss. The windows also include a “double glazing.” Double glazed windows are designed using two thicknesses of window glass, which helps to improve the insulation of the windows.

Our business has been blessed year after year by the support of our customers throughout the greater Sacramento area. We participated in this project to give back to the community and return the blessings. Since 1995, we have been serving Sacramento, and we plan to continue our service for years to come. Find out how you can give back to your community. Visit the Sacramento Habitat for Humanity’s website for more information on volunteer opportunities.
